Master Class - Watercolor Techniques for Botanicals

Master Class - Watercolor Techniques for Botanicals will continue to build a strong foundation in drawing to understand tonal variation, modeling, and three dimensionality. Our focus will be translucency which follows a study of venation. Life cycle elements shall be revealed as well as a strong light source. Watercolor compositions shall be completed for the future exhibit, Up From Mexico - Plants That Cross the Border at UCSF Faculty Alumni House.
This is a Master Artist Certificate course and premission of the intstructor is required.

Master Class - Botanical Illustration

Wednesday Master Class will continue to develop Mastery in drawing. Our focus will be translucency and plant structure. Finishing techniques for depth and drama will be covered as well as composing and layout for complexity.
Watercolor compositions shall be completed for a future exhibits featuring native bees & native plants.

Watercolor Techniques for Botanical Illustration - Mixed Level
10:30am - 1:30pm
This series of classes is designed to move students forward at their own levels with special activities for beginners, intermediates, and more advanced painters. Drawing with pen for accuracy and observation will be addressed at each class. Exploration of the unique qualities of the color palette will continue with emphasis on wet layering for luminosity and depth. We will work on the continued mastery of finishing techniques. Paintings will be completed in preparation for an exhibition at the Hayward Shoreline Interpretative Center in 2019
